We encourage candidates to avoid "self rejecting" — if you're not sure if you're ready, please apply anyway. It may not be your time, but it's better that we come to that decision together. You may surprise yourself 😎
We try to hire based on what you can do above what you have. That means having a fancy degree will not help too much in our process. We want to see that you're able to apply the skills that your studies (hopefully) gave you. We find that this approach also helps us to build a more inclusive team, as not everyone is afforded the same opportunities in life.
We try to make our interview process and comfortable and casual as we can. We don't want to ask trick questions or surprise you. We just want to get to know you, and understand if you're a great fit for Beyond.
Likewise, the interviews should be time for you to get to know us, and understand whether Beyond is the place you'd like to work. Interviews are like a weird date. Both sides are getting to know the other, to figure out if that's who you want to spend time with. Please ask us questions too — we'll make sure there's plenty of time for it.
Preparation for our interviews should be minimal. We don't expect you to have memorised Stack Overflow — we're more interested in how you approach problems and how you think.
We want to connect with you as a human, so please bring your personality along with you. We embrace and celebrate differences, so don't be afraid to let your uniqueness shine through.
